I've purchased a lot of Musiclily stuff lately. The quality is great, the price is super reasonable, and they don't feel the need to slap their logo all over everything, which is something I hate and really ruins my partscaster builds. Sure, I could buy the official "Fender" branded tuners, but they're really not all that great and are (you guessed it) still built in China. At least Musiclily isn't hiding behind a brand and are openly and proudly WELL-MADE Chinese-engineered and built pieces of kit, and they look damned nice, too.I recently installed a locking set by these guys for a more modern style strat/super strat build I was doing, but now I'm working on a relic/vintage style guitar and these semi-closed vintage style tuners fit the bill beautifully. They're a cinch to install, although if you're putting these on an import neck, you make have to do a wee bit of routing on the holes to widen them a smidge. I use my trusty hand reamer which does the job in a few twists and makes short work of the process. It also allows you to make slight adjustments and check for fit rather than go whole hog and drill something too big!The tuners have that classic look and vibe, and hold tune really well after a proper string stretch and some playing in. They're a touch stiff (much like the last few sets I've purchased) but that'll work itself out. In the short term it is a bit finnicky as these are 18:1 ratio, so to really fine tune it you'll do a bit more twisting than usual, but, once it's there, it stays there, even after some serious bending and twiddlin'!!Like I've said in other reviews, Chinese-made hardware (and pickups and guitars in general) have come a VERY long way over the years, and the big Chinese brands like Guyker, Musiclily, and Kaynes are really making some noise in the DIY/modding scene. If you're looking to upgrade or starting a project from scratch, keep these guys on your shortlist, because the bang for the buck is unbelievable.
