Musiclily Basic 32mm Width Prewired Loaded TL Control Plate for Tele Style Guitar

Works as described. I read the reviews and a lot of people are just asking for too much. It's a $10 control plate, as with anything you get what you pay for. That being said the wires were not the same color, ground wires were in fact black, solder job was better than I expected after reading the reviews. I broke a pot on my t style, ordered this for a quick swap. It works as good or better than the original. Dont let the negative reviews steer you away if you're looking for a cheap, easy replacement. Worth every penny IMO

I've had good luck with parts from Musiclily in the past. Decent quality at excellent prices. This one is so-so. Cosmetics are nice. Wiring is not exactly drop-in for an imported Tele style guitar. Took me a while to trace everything because it did not come with a wiring diagram. Also, the lead wires are of marginal quality. (Cheap.) Not up to their usual standards, however it does get the job done.

I'll admit that I'm kind of amazed at how well this plate is working out. In all honesty, I actually just got it for the control plate itself, as the cost was almost the same as just other plates. I figured if the pots were junk, I'd just replace them as needed. I do need to include that I'm not using the switch, because this was installed in my Esquire project, but the switch does appear to be good quality.Anyway, the pots do certainly look cheap, but they work just fine. Some of the wires were a bit longer than necessary, so I trimmed them down and resoldered them, for a better fit. The plating and quality of the control plate itself looks very good.My only gripe is one that's on behalf of those who may not have much experience installing this - there's some ground wires that are red, which is counterintuitive, because ground wires are supposed to be black (or at least not red!). It's kind of made worse by at least one other non-grounding wire connection also being red. My advice is to simply remove and replace all the red ground wires with something else, because you're going to have to connect the ground wires from your output jack, the bridge ground wire, and the negative pickup leads anyway.

Packaged nicely. Plating is scratch free. Control knobs look very nice. Dimensions are spot on which is nice, seeing that I was doing design work prior to receiving the control plate; using this item on a custom Tele style guitar that I am making.Haven't wired it up yet but when I do I'll do an update to this review and report on the overall sound quality; I know it will also depend on the quality of the pickups used. Time will tell ;>)

This is a good control plate for a tele project. Components are kind of cheap but don't get wrong, they work nice, knobs function properly and the wiring is good. Maybe I'd replace the switch for a real Fender/Oak/CTS but in general is a great alternative if you don't want to spend a lot for a project.
