I am not happy with these saddles. They are definitely not Fender Player series quality replacement parts and that is because these so called chrome plated stainless saddles fall very short of excellence in the area of details of the chrome electroplated finish and machining details. They lack a smooth uniform chrome finish. Simply brushed stainless steel would have presented a much superior finish and would have been liked much better especially on a nice guitar like a Player Series Fender.I chose not to use them on my nice Fender and am keeping them on hand for use in another guitar.I realize that simply polishing the stainless block saddles would have been much more labor intensive and complicated when compared to just mass electroplating hundreds of saddles at the same time.I cannot explain where the mistake was made that resulted in these saddles presenting an unsatisfactory appearance that is very unlike a nice chrome finish and is more reminiscent of a satin finish painted coating. Obviously it is not paint, but the appearance is similar to having sprayed grey primer painted coating out of a can onto the saddles. The so called chrome finish is very granular and looks like someone sprayed grey primer paint on them, not chrome. Very dull satin finish and crude machining of the blocks themselves. The machining of the blocks themselves shows no evidence of artistic design or polishing. They look unpolished and of a sort that is not complimentary to a nice guitar like a Fender Player Series guitar.I expected a much nicer chrome finish and more artistic machining. My cheap chrome plated zinc saddles are far superior to these saddles because the chrome plating is smooth and glassy, not grainy looking. And the cheap zinc saddles have polished edges and evidence of artistry in the design of the saddles. These are aspects important to guitar players.I like the Musicilly company and have been very happy with several of their items such as pickguards, etc., some of which are suitable to use when modifying a nice guitar like a Fender Player series guitar.Note: Solid block style saddles allow for raising string height without regard for the length of the saddle height adjustment screws. You can raise up the string height to avoid string buzzing when playing aggressive metal, etc.Because the thin sheet metal used with the ordinary bent steel saddles is so thin that they are ‘not’ forgiving when running out of height screw adjustment length. The range of adjustability is limited by the thin sheet metal thru which the screw bore hole is made. The block saddles have threaded bore holes extending from the base of the saddles to the top surface of the saddles. This allows you to screw the height screw down into the block saddles in order to get more string height. You can’t do this with the bent steel saddles because of the very thin cross section profile of the sheet metal they are made from; most likely ‘stampings’.
