    Not Plastic.

Looks decent, but its not hard plastic. Its a thick.flexible 3M Vinyl.

good fit on a Martin Guitar

Fit wasn't perfect but it did the job. Price was right and the service was excellent.

    Simple, fits most dreadnaughts

I'm not sure what they mean by "sheerness", this is not pantyhose, so I only gave it a 4, (in case its actually delightfully "sheer"), but setting that aside...look for the circular decorative sound hole rings on your acoustic guitar, match the curve, pencil that, peel the adhesive, stick that puppy on and forget about it. The first time I got one of these, I wanted to place it at a certain spot, so I wound up custom cutting the curve with an exacto knife, did a less than stellar job, and wound up struggling to peel that one off, where second time around, I just used existing curves to match. My Washburn had no pickguard, so anything would be an improvement, and quite frankly, its a standard enough design you probably won't need to go all fancy on it. Looks fine.

    Nice

I used these pickguards for 2 fender 3/4 guitars. They are quite thin and were easy to trim and customize to the smaller hole with a pair of scissors. Then, I sanded the inner edge with fine sand paper wrapped around a jar. The adhesive is very sticky so make sure you know where you want it in advance. Oddly, I do feel like I both devalued the guitar and protected it at the same time. The red one looks horrible with it's film on and I almost returned it, but my son wanted it. I was very pleased it looks so nice once installed and the film off. It does have a bit of a printed look but it doesn't take away from the overall affect. The black one has a slight defect in the guard that I didn't see until it was installed and I removed the film. That was a bit frustrating but once they start to get used I'm sure it won't be a big deal with all the other scratches and nicks they get.For the value of protecting 2 fender student guitars and cost I do feel I got my money's worth.
