Musiclily Pro HH-DJRC Ceramic Rail Blade Humbucker Neck Pickup 8K for Electric Guitar

I got these pickups to use in my custom made SG guitar and I am quite pleased with their performance. Wiring them was pretty straightforward as I have done it many times in the past but they came with a diagram to help you wire it yourself. They work quite well and pickup the sound really well, with good sustain and a crisp sound. The output is great with very little to no buzz. Obviously it will also depend on your amp but so far the clean sound coming from these pickups is quite good. I like the double zebra pattern a lot and goes well with my guitar.

I’ve had a few sets of Musiclily pickups but this was my first experience with their ceramic pickups and my first experience with rail pickups in general. I put these in an old Korean made Epiphone SG I’ve always been unhappy with the tone of and installed them along with some Musiclily pots as well.I’m very pleased with the quality of these, the wiring is great. I like that they have a bit of shrink tubing at the end of the sheath that makes it easier to pass the wires thru the guitar but also they are also different colors so you can keep track of which is the neck and which is the bridge wiring.**One note about the wiring, these pickups use a green ground and a black hot wire which matches the supplied instructions, however if you use something like Seymour Duncan’s wiring diagrams they use a green hot and black ground, so be aware if you’re using any other manufactures wiring diagrams for your install.**The pickups were super easy to install thanks to the shrink tubing I mentioned and they fit and function perfectly. The looks are still growing on me, they’re nice though.I’m very happy with the sound quality, for ceramics these are very versatile. You can get some great growl out of both pickups but also get some smooth and rich tones too that aren’t far off of Alnico-5 pickups. Like another reviewer I’m not often a neck pickup user but the neck pickup in this set is particularly nice sounding.These pickups are great like most other Musiclily stuff I’ve used and they’re an incredible value. If you’re on the fence about these just get them, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

While I have yet to install into the body that I got them for these as I'm not sure how long I'll be working on finish so this will be a short review. To test I alligator clipped these up and set them into a bare SG body and wow, the bridge pickup has a heck of a great output. Very hot and when I cranked the amp gain up, it sounded every bit as good as pups that sell for a lot more. I love that the spec and wiring sheets were included so I didn't have to guess what needed to be clipped to what. The neck pickup, while not as hot, had a great clean sound and now maybe after playing with these I'll get motivated to do a few more buff and coats this weekend.

Perfect replacement for any humbucker equipped guitar that needs a little more rock pumped into it. The bridge pickup is nice and hot and provides searing mid range for a modern hard rock sound with great harmonics. I'm not much of a neck pickup connoisseur (I can't remember the last time I flipped my pickup switch anywhere but bridge-only), but it sounds great with a nice glassy clean tone. Comes with springs and screws for easy install and well packaged. These are inexpensive but go head to head with a lot of more expensive pickups and they look killer and sound great. Resistance figures in the product listing are pretty accurate... I got 13.9k on the bridge and 7.63k on the neck.

These pickups are nicely made, and all measurements are pretty close to the specifications in the listing. I measured resistance of 14.1k for the bridge, and 7.6k for the neck, and the split coils were also appropriately specced.I really appreciate that thorough documentation is included. I had to hunt down wiring diagrams online for another manufacturer's pickups, which is frustrating, and having to guess or go through measurements to deduce it is worse.The pickups come with screws and springs, though it's up to you to get pickup rings separately if you need them.My guitar build project isn't at the point where I'm ready to install these yet (some paint work to go), but everything I'm seeing says these will work great.Overall, these seems like a good choice, and the price is much, MUCH more accessible than big-name brands.
