I recently bought a like new James Tyler JTV89F and for some reason the radius of the nut seemed too flat for the radius of the neck; to the point that the outer strings felt like they were higher than the rest of the strings. This was the exact right dimensions and was just slightly tighter radius and it totally brought the guitar around to being "nice" to a serious player. The quality is better than I expected...with that said I did reuse the orignal screws which were a bit smaller on the head so I had to go a bit deeper on screwing them in and I had to plug and redrill the right hole because it didn't line up quite perfectly. I'm not sure which one was originally "off". I did have to shim it, but I had to shim the original nut as well. Quick tip, buy a cheap set of feeler gauges, find what works by leaving the nut unscrewed and when you find the perfect size trim it to fit...voila custom nut shim.
