Almost perfect, but not quite. Heres why...

Overall, I like this Stingray pick guard. It ALMOST fits the bass, a 91 EB MM Stingray four string (see pic), but you do will need to do a little filing to make it fit perfectly. Also, it was a little off from what I expected in the color.Lets start with the things that were good. The pick guard is solid three-layer construction as advertised. Its covered with adhesive on both sides to prevent scratching. It arrived in perfect condition. It was the color I ordered (see below), and (nearly perfectly) fit my bass (see below).More good bits:The screw holes were the correct number, thats a good start based on some reviews I read. They lined up well, and the cut outs for the pickup and the truss rod were good enough. Now the not so good:The cutouts for pickup and truss rod were actually a little large in my opinion, resulting in visible gaps, but Im pretty picky. Luckily the bigger gap is below the pickup, so you dont notice it as much. The biggest problem lies with the fit to the neck. Like many of the other reviews state, the pick guard is too narrow and hits both sides of the neck. Dont force it, else you either break your new pick guard or youll scratch the hell out of the sides of your neck. Or both!!Youll have file the neck opening on the pick guard down to make it fit. It just takes a minute, but its a hassle. Maybe Ernie Ball changed the widths of their neck over time? Dunno. Finally, the color is called mint green. In my mind, I pictured a light green color. What I got was off-white with the slightest hint of green (see attached pic). I dont dislike it, but Id call this an aged white, or classic white, not anything with green in the name.Maybe its because my bass is black? Maybe if you mount this on a white one itll look green. Luckily, I like the way it turned out. A lot. Not exactly what I expected, but cool anyway. So, for this price I got a (nearly) perfectly fitting three-layer MM Stingray pick guard that radically changes the look of my bass. Im all for that. I may actually buy a couple more and see what other colors do to it.Four stars all the way, and RECOMMENDED as long as youre comfortable filing it down to make it fit. If theyd fix the fit, Id give it all five stars.

    It fits my bass perfectly

Looks good , I wish they would make one that covers the control knobs too like the 5 string but for 4 string basss

Looks Great and Fits Fine on USA SUB4

This is probably about as good as you're going to get for a nine to ten dollar pickguard. The quality seems fine, all of the edges where cleanly cut and it was well protected with two layers of plastic film. It is a little more flexible or flimsy than say a WD or an oem pickguard but once it screwed down you'd never know it. I did need to very slightly trim the guard at the neck pocket. That took about two minutes and then everything including the screw holes lined up fine and the guard laid down nice and flat.I've cut quite a few of my own pickguards over the years but when you can get one this inexpensively I just don't see the point anymore. This same style pickguard runs $30-40 elsewhere and I can tell you from experience there is not enough quality difference to justify that cost difference.

Does not fit my SUB Ray4

First of all, this is a very nice pickguard, no knocks against it at all. It's super solid and finished very well, excellent quality overall. Five stars for the pickguard!Due to the somewhat conflicting comments here about fitment on various basses, I figured I'd just go ahead and spend ten bucks to see if it fit my 2021 Sterling SUB Ray4. I saw another review that showed pictures of a pickguard fitting perfectly on a Mint Green SUB Ray4, which made me hopeful.Sadly, this pickguard does not fit my SUB Ray4. It's the right shape and size, but it appears the pickup on the Ray4 is set into the bass about 3/8" closer to the bridge than the basses this is designed to fit. This has the effect of moving the entire pickguard down by 3/8". Even when I lined up the two pickguards off the bass, I could see that the screw holes didn't all line up. I am puzzled why the pickguard fit that other reviewer's SUB Ray 4. Either his bass or the pickguard is different from mine, obviously! In the attached photos, the black pickguard is stock and the tortoishell is the Musiclily pickguard.Too bad -- the tortoiseshell looks pretty good with the walnut finish!

99% fit, good quality, even better price

I gave this pick guard a 5 star because it's a good quality pick guard at a really good price, I have an old OLP MM2 Stingray copy and it popped right in, I did have to shave the horns by the truss rod adjustment because they were a little to curved in but after that very minor fixing it fit with no problem, my pick up sits a little further back so there's a small gap right by the truss rod adjustment but it doesn't bother me. Another thing that is kind of a plus is since it's a 9 Hole guard (original is 7 hole) all the new screw hole are in a clean spot so I can drill new holes with no problem ??.
