Nice vintage looking string trees that would make very acceptable replacements on a Fender guitar, or as initial installs on your Partscaster build. Finish is smooth, and no rough edges are noted.I can't give it 5 stars; because the design limits their applicability. You'll see lots of string trees, here and elsewhere, that have a shorter stand-off shaft. These include two sets of mounting screws of different lengths and an adapter to increase the shaft length. This lets them be used on more instruments and different configurations. This is not one of those.So make sure the height is what you need to get your desired tension before ordering!

These string trees are a nice improvement over the stock ones on my customized Strat. The chrome finish matches my Musiclily Wilkinson locking tuners and seems to make tuning a little smoother as the rounded edges do not catch on the strings like the previous ones. Installation is simple, detune the strings a few turns to reduce the tension on the strings and trees. Unscrew the old ones and install the new ones. Both are the same size so no problem on which one to put on what strings. Re-tune the guitar and you are done. Remember to take your time tuning up the high strings to ensure you don't break a string. Definitely a good way to improve tuning ease and stability for only a few bucks. First picture shows before replacement, the second two are after installing the Musiclily trees. Highly Recommended!

I only own one actual Fender guitar because I believe the correct way to get tension across the nut is by tilting the headstock, as every manufacturer did before Fender came along. But I have many strat-style guitars that use string trees, and some of them have sharp edges where the string rubs that can add friction and cause tuning instability. I always replace the string trees with roller trees or something like this that is very smooth to prevent string binding. These definitely fit the bill and have a nice polished finish to minimize friction. It's quick and easy to replace the stock string trees, although the height may vary slightly.
