Not sure why Squier (Fender) had such a dull pickguard along with a metallic blue guitar body. One of the first things I did was look for a classy pearlescent white pickguard. Many were rather expensive! But I found this Musiclily? pick guard that not only looked great, but under $20! Make's my inexpensive guitar look more upscale! Five Stars!! My only caveat has nothing to do with the new pick guard quality. It's a quirk of the guitar itself. Before removing the screws of the two pickups, note they also act as height adjustments for the pickups relative to the strings. So measure the different pickup heights above the pick guard and note them. Then while disassembling, be careful not to lose the fine adjustment springs. And have patience fitting them back with the pickup screws. With the pickup height measurements you took , then adjust each pickup back to it's factory set height. Enjoy your cooler looking guitar!
