Solid brass nut, great quality. You will need to finish the nut and adjust your slots after installation (like on any nut), but this one took it 99% of the way there.

Very well cut and made Bass-guitar brass nut. Fits on my Harley Benton PB-50 vintage style bass.Perfect fit and now it sounds even better than using that old cheap plastic nut most guitars come with.It is also very shiny and looks like Gold :)I highly recommend this brass nut and also this seller. I have no was to verify if this is truly brass but based on the way it files it is not too hard nor too soft. The nut has plenty of height, I ended up sanding off almost half of the bottom portion to fit my neck but I'd rather have too much than too little.

Fit my J base almost perfectly minor. Sanding was easy.
