I bought this to replace the stock trem & bridge in a cheap import guitar. Mostly I just wanted black to replace chrome to fit the aesthetic I'm going for. This trem block is about twice as thick as the pot metal block that came on the guitar, and this one passes the magnet test. I was very surprise after installing it that the tone sounded much clearer and fuller.Downsides: I'm not sure the springs that came with it are "noiseless" (they don't look like it). I already had replacement noiseless springs, so that didn't bother me, but if you're buying it to replace the whole tremolo system that might matter to you. Also the locking screw for the whammy bar goes under the bridge, which means to adjust that screw you have to raise the bridge--a real pain. Make sure you get the whammy bar just how you want it before you screw the bridge down and set the intonation.
