Musiclily Pro String Guides Trees Retainers for Fender American Standard Style Electric Guitar, Black (Set of 2)

Musiclily have rapidly established themselves as a provider of quality components at a reasonable price. These trees are no exception. They are visually indistinguishable from the factory original, and look far better than the m-section cheap steel stampings you find on budget guitars. They do the same job, of course, which is to hold the strings tightly into the nut.

These maintain the standard, and are pretty much exact copies of Fender American Standard string trees in a high chrome finish, along with the annoying locating pin. The string bars are fixed, not that a roller is really a requirement, and free of any burrs. A/B'ing these against a genuine set of AmStd trees you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference, except these are around half the price.Even includes a complimentary plectrum.Would definitely recommend.

The chrome plating on these looks pretty good and the wings are perfectly round with no rough spots, nice and smooth. Even though they're very affordable they don't look cheap. There is a very faint mold line around the edge of each string tree but it's located in a location where it's not noticeable and this is expected at this price point. They do have locating pins on the bottom, so you'll need to drill a small hole for the pin to sit in if you're replacing the stamped steel style string trees with these. Great inexpensive upgrade for entry level strat style guitars.

I've ordered several parts from Musiclily now and I've always been pleased with the quality and value. These are no exception. While they don't actually have rollers like some string trees, I don't think that really matters here. The string passes over a smooth, rounded piece that shouldn't add any appreciable friction when bending or using the tremolo.They're not kidding in the description here, by the way. These will only fit Fender American guitars without modification because in addition to the screw mount they have a locating stud. You could of course drill a small hole in your headstock to fit these to import guitars.

Musiclily always makes great aftermarket parts, and these string retainers are no exception. They're a perfect fit, and I had no issues installing them on my guitar. Absolutely recommend!
