CTS 450 B500K Piatto Standard a Trasmissione Divisa 3/8 Pollici 10% Tornitore Lineare per Chitarra Elettrica Basso

Was looking for a good 500 K linear potentiometer. This is said to be a B500K, but if you look at the back, it is a B450K. It is also what I measured it to. So the description is totally wrong. It is NOT a B500K pot!

Ordered two pots, both were within 10% tolerance. One was 480k and the other was 510k. I used them with my Precision Bass Deluxe with Dimarzio Model P and Model J pickups. The higher value pots keep the thicker sounding pickups from sounding dull.I prefer linear taper for volume pots, contrary to most recommendations. One a logarithmic/audio taper pot, most of your adjustment happens right at the beginning of the sweep (10-8) while linear pots give you a smoother/wider range of adjustment. I use these same pots in my SG for volume, logarithmic pots for tone though.

I've used a lot of different types of potentiometers while building electric guitars, but nothing beats that CTS feel and quality. Find a place (Like Emerson) that will tune it up before selling, so you get a 10% tolerance instead of the 20% standard, and you're golden.
