This block is smaller but heavier than the steel Wilkinson block it replaced. Don't ask me about the science of it, but my ears are hearing a tone that is more lively, clear and full. It did however increase the string tension as the ball ends sit closer to the outer edge of the block.

The hole the tremolo bar goes in did not line up with tue baseplate on my Mexican standard. I drilled the baseplate to fit, then the string holes were out of line some so I enlarged them. Other than that it works great, I love it.

Great block, with only minor drawbacks, for certain applications.The trem hole, in my baseplate, was too small. (As another reviewer mentioned.) (I’m not a fan of the plastic insert, but I can live with it.) Instead of opening the hole, I sanded the trem arm down to 4.4mm. Now it fits perfectly. (The trem arm was cheaper than the bridge, hence my approach.)The 6 mounting holes were 1/4mm too far away from the nut. Nothing intonation couldn’t fix.It’s a major upgrade. The full brass block, is completely different from the thin zinc-alloy.It has more sustain. It’s easier to float than the light zinc block. Returns to tune more consistently. The tone is even more… well, everything. It’s brighter, warmer, fuller, and cleaner. It’s not as brittle, or trebely(?), as the zinc. It’s most notable, with no effects. More so unplugged.I’d certainly buy again.

This was a big tonal upgrade to replace the very sad, anemic trem block in my ESP LTD ST-213 strat.

This the second one I’ve installed. Nicely made.
