A great pickup that does the job.

Artec WSH12-OSJ Humbucker Walnut Wood CoverI was pleasantly surprised with the sound of this pickup. It produces a nice even tone on all strings with no static or hum.Now the installation was a little challenging. I was putting this pickup in a parlor guitar which has smaller sound hole dimensions than the average guitar. (Only about 3.7 inches.) I was able to fit the pickup in by removing the bottom tap from the pickup screw, dropping the pickup into the guitar then painstakingly placing the bottom tab into the sound-hole and reattaching it to the screw. This was not ease as you have to attach the tab to the screw by feel as there was no way to visually see it because of the pickup size and the tight fit of the sound-hole. I then attached the input jack to the strap button and used one of the little clips provided to attach the wire to the bridge. This the first time using an Artec sound hole pickup so I hope the reliability is good because difficulty of installation this is kind of a permeant solution to the guitars amplification. I dont see me removing the pickup.

    Not for 12 strings

Pole spacing isn't wide enough for 12 strings. That said for the price it sounds great, plug it in,EQ it and go!

Firstly, the sound was really interesting with a jangle and crispness to the tone. It also sounded great with gain. Unfortunately problems as per static and cutting out. It literally started to die. Noisy cable that got worse quickly. I treat all my equipment carefully and really enjoyed ituntil it started to fail. Unfortunately Im having a bad go with the QC of Amazon related pickups. Better sound than the Fishman but longevity is highly questionable.
